ABOUT CORSOS

FOR HEROES

Meet the Founder

Harry Toro

Harry was raised in NJ and as a young boy he became interested in the sport of boxing and decided to train and see where it would go. He became a professional boxer and went on to win the Golden Gloves as well as obtaining a spot on the US Olympic Boxing Team. After he decided to leave boxing he decided to start a family and now has three beautiful daughters who are the light of his life. Harry also spent some time in California exploring a career in acting and modeling. He eventually returned home and spent his time with his daughters and started a trucking company which became very successful but after awhile started to affect his health. He was diagnosed shortly after with Traumatic Brain Injury which most likely was from his previous career as a boxer. It was not long after that he decided to try his hand at raising and breeding Cane Corsos. These dogs were amazing, intuitive, and very protective yet gentle. He decided to give one of his pups to a Veteran he knew suffered from PTSD and see if it could help him like Harrys Service dog did for him and it definitely did. As soon as this man met his dog he said his life changed. He was sleeping better, his mind was more focused, and he found peace he never knew was possible after suffering so many years. Harry knew after seeing the changes himself this is what he wanted to do. He had the ability to change and even save lives by donating these amazing animals to our Heroes and it was then that “Corsos For Heroes” was formed.

We are a team of family and friends that is growing everyday. Our 501C3 is up and running and will soon give us the capability of expanding, We currently have 12 Breeding Corsos and 14 Puppies and a new litter due in Aug 2021. Our goal is to be able to triple the amount of dogs we donate every year and more. Please support Corsos for Heroes by donating what you can. We are saving lives by changing lives.

Our Volunteers

Our Mission

Corsos for Heroes donates Cane Corsos to United States Veterans and First Responders in need. We strive to help these brave men and women by finding the perfect match of a canine companion for them. Each dog is trained for the specific needs of the Veterans and First Responders.

Our History

Our founder, Harry Toro is a member of a military family. He is devoted to helping our Veterans and First Responders return to civilian life after their service for the country ends by providing trained service dogs at no cost to the veteran.

OUR CANINE FAMILY

OUR PROGRAM.

We breed for good temperament! A good bloodline is important because we want our dogs to be the most loving and loyal companions available.

YOUNG-ADULT SERVICE DOGS.

We raise our dogs in a family setting and socialize them at local public events. This ensures that they are introduced to all types of people. Early socialization is the key to a well mannered and helpful service dog.

TRAINING.

Professional Trainers donate their time and services to this program.  Not every dog has what it takes to become a service dog.  We rely on the trainers to hand pick each dog for the veteran in need.

We are a team of family and friends that is growing everyday.
